Officer Greg Moore and "K-9 Paco"
|

Officer Moore came to the Elk Grove Police Department
in February 2006 after working for 9 ½ years with the
Woodland Police Department where he was a K-9
handler for seven years. He came to the Elk Grove
Police Department and joined six other K-9 handlers to
form the department’s first K-9 unit.
Officer Moore and K-9 3 “Paco” began working together
in April of 2006, when he was chosen to become a
member of the newly formed Elk Grove Police
Department’s K-9 Unit. Officer Moore and the rest of the
K-9 Unit flew to Vohne Liche Kennels in Indiana, and
chose four Police K-9s after searching over 100 dogs.
After returning from Indiana Officer Moore and Paco
began a rigorous two month training program, and in
July of 2006 Paco became a certified Police Dog. Since
July 2006, Paco has completed hundreds of hours of
training in Narcotics detection and patrol training.
When Paco is not at work he enjoys playing ball with
anyone willing to play with him. He also enjoys going for
runs with Officer Moore’s family and shares the backyard
dog duties with Officer Moore’s retired German
Shepherd.
